Charline Ratcliff and… “It Works!”

My friend Christina recently asked me to come over and hang out so she could show me this new “It Works!” body wrap that she was all excited about. She and I had previously participated in an Art/Craft event up in Napa, and I’m pretty sure that’s where she and I both became aware of the “It Works!” product line. We met an interesting woman with an amazing story, and saw the undeniable proof (aka photos) of her weight loss transformation. Until now, I had forgotten all about this company. Christina on the other hand, had not.

“I lost three inches!” she gushed into the phone, and I smiled at her obvious excitement.

Spending time with my best friend is always a fun thing, and who knows? Maybe I’d lose an inch or two… I agreed to go over and be “wrapped.”

So, the infamous “wrap” night arrived, and it was fun. Christina and I chit chatted about work, books, et cetera while each wearing an “It Works!” body wrap. Having used other detox/fat loss wraps before I will state that this one was a LOT different. No having to strip down to nothing only to then be wrapped up tighter than Tutankhamen in ace bandages that have been soaking in a detox solution. No uncomfortable exercising during the wrap, no unflattering ponchos and no plastic bags on my feet to keep the detox solution from soaking into the carpet! *chuckle* In all honesty, I’d have to say the “It Works!” body wrap was actually fun. And sort of tingly. It even smelled nice in a minty kind of way.

Forty-five minutes came and went before we finally remembered it was time to remove the wraps. We took off the wraps and then re-measured ourselves. What do you know? I’d lost two inches which didn’t seem possible since I’d been practically guzzling water once the wrap was on.

“What do you know,” I said to Christina in a disbelieving voice. “It works!”

In retrospect, that statement, no doubt uttered in shock and/or disbelief by various people, is probably how they came up with their company name…
