- National Picnic Month (Hello yummy food, eaten under a shady tree, while sitting on top of a checkered blanket. Oh, right, and hello ants! And yellow jackets. Good of you to join us)!
- National Parks Month (Well, really! Where did you expect to find said “shady” tree)?
- Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month (Juvenile arthritis is one of the most common chronic illnesses affecting children yet it is often undetected or misdiagnosed when symptoms first appear. During July – the Arthritis Foundation focuses on increasing awareness of early signs and symptoms of juvenile arthritis and resources for families affected by the disease).
July birthstones: Ruby and Onyx. Yes, July people apparently ARE special enough to require an option of birthstones…
July fruits and vegetables: Papayas, Nectarines and Garlic. I’m guessing that July isn’t a favorite month for Vampires.
And finally, the flowers meant to represent the month of July: Larkspur and Water Lily. And here I thought that “Larkspur” was just a street found in the more northern residential area of Tempe, Arizona…
