Wish For Me: The Djinn Order, Act One
A. Star
Steampunk Fantasy/Romance
Hello A.S — thanks for taking the time for this blog tour interview today! So let’s get to it, shall we?
Tell us something about yourself. For example, when you were a child in school – what did you think your career path would be?
Oh, boy. Lawyer or forensic scientist. And this went on for years, no lie. Hell, I still want to be a FS. Too bad I suck at science. And math. Basically, all skills needed to do the job, lol.
What about books — for your own personal reading (not writing) what is your favorite genre? Why?
I love a good paranormal romance or epic fantasy. But I also like middle grade fantasy books. I guess cuz I’m sort of a kid at heart and reading through the eyes of a child can sometimes be so much fun.
And writing? When did you first begin?
I’ve always been a ‘writer,’ but I didn’t start writing fiction until I was about twenty-three.
Did you start out writing ‘adult only’ romances – or was there some writing journey that led you there?
Well, my alter ego Diantha Jones, writes YA Fantasy. Her first series was the Oracle of Delphi and
when she decided that there should be an adult prequel series, that’s where I came in. So there’s never any confusion, all books by A. Star are for adults.
How do you plan for and/or schedule any writing commitments? (And as an aside, I think the entire writing community is constantly seeking additional help in that department)! *chuckle*
I wish I had the magic formula that could cure this epidemic, lol. I honestly get it in where it fits in. When it comes to my writing career, ‘planning’ has never worked well for me. I’m a total panster and I’m damn proud of it. I write when I feel like it, and watch Netflix when I don’t.
With your writing genre of (and I quote): “sexy times and dirty jokes,” would you say that having a high level of imagination is important?
Not necessarily. I think having a freaking sense of humor is what’s important. People take fiction books too seriously sometimes and they suck all the fun out of it. I’m not afraid to offend people and make them blush and cringe. That’s actually the goal. My books will always be served with a hefty helping of laughter. But then again, imagination helps in this regard. With a healthy imagination, you can find humor in almost anything.
I sincerely chuckled when I read the “Warning” tag for your newest book: Wish for Me — it made me wonder what reading an autobiography of yours would be like. If you ever penned one, what would the title be?
Bitch Be Wild – Trust me. That title says everything.
What would the closing line to said autobiography be?
“Yup, I was born to be wild. And I ain’t never chillin’ out.”
Lastly, is there a funny (non 18+) story that you’d like to share with your readers/fans?
The Oracle of Delphi series is about as innocent as I get and it’s pretty damn funny too. So definitely check that out if my dirty jokes are too much for you, lol.
A. S., thanks so much for hanging out with me today — the interview was a lot of fun and I certainly smiled and/or chuckled my way through it! Best to you in all your current, and future, writing endeavors!

Synopsis:
Three wishes. Two lovers. One destiny.
When the snarky Glory St. Pierre discovers the gold mechanical vase in her deceased grandmother’s basement, she has no idea that she has uncovered a priceless treasure: a genie lamp. With a real genie inside. A very sexy genie with a not-so-sexy grudge against the entire human race.
Irving Amir hates being called a genie. He’s a Djinn, and he is none too happy to be in the service of Glory, who is as intolerable, and beautiful, as humans come. Now he owes her his gratitude for freeing him and three wishes. Damn his luck.
But an arrow through the shoulder alerts Irving to the fact that he is being hunted, and after a truce dinner with Glory ends with them both almost being killed, hating each other goes right out the window. As feelings change and love starts to develop, they must dig through the secrets and lies to find the truth…a truth neither of them will ever see coming.
WARNING: Not suitable for ages 18 and under. A significant source of bad language, sexy times, and dirty jokes. If you suffer from a lack of a sense of humor, take with plenty of wine. If the symptom persists, see a doctor.
